Young adults forced to continue in school!

The BBC are reporting that hundreds of thousands of pupils in England are stuck in a cycle of resits, as they try to achieve a grade C in maths and English. Schools and colleges say it is putting pressure on their teachers, and their budgets.

Upset an GCSE fail.Schools and college budgets are being put under extra strain and teachers and students are under extra stress. This is because of a policy that the government introduced in 2013.

The policy says that students in England, who fail to get a grade C or above in GCSE maths or English should carry on studying the subject, or subjects, until the age of 18, with the aim of achieving this mark. The problem is that many students are taking the exams again and again and still can not get to that magical C grade.

This is leaving many students, exhausted, frustrated and probably some even suicidal. Many will never get to the C grade. I am not suggesting that if you just missed a C grade you could not be offered a second or even a third chance to achieve that mark, but that forcing children… Actually really adults, (They could be married with children of their own), to go back into a class with 15 year-olds or even with their peers not going to help many of them.

Even young people who are getting on well and succeeding in a college course in a practical subject, find that they are taken away from the subject that they are succeeding in. They are forced to take time out of the course they are achieving to study one they will not achieve. And of course, there are the very children who might actually need more, not less time to compleat the vocational course work.

Studies suggest that of the students who fail to get a C grade at 16 only 6.5% eventually got a C grade or above English and 7% in maths. Over 90% are struggling for a grade they will not reach.

Many of these are wasting valuable time that they should be investing in the skills and qualifications that they could achieve and that would equip them to be productive members of society.

I suspect many that would have thrived in a vocational training situation end up depressed, on drugs and in dead end west of life jobs, in part, because they were forced to continue in academic studies when their skills and abilities lay in a more practical area.

We need a lot more provision for people who are not academic but are very capable or even gifted in other areas.

Home Schooling

If you are not yet Home Schooling…

In some ways, this is a subject that we should be looking at on the Bible Matters website. Sertanly in teams of the theological reasons for home schooling, or home education as we prefer to think of it. However, I will at times bring up news items that should give you to seriously to seek the Lord as to whether you can still leave your children in a state school.

The Government intends to introduce a new statutory subject of ‘Relationships Education’ to all primary schools in England.

This new subject may well impose some level of sex education on children as young as four. Parents will have no right to withdraw their children from this teaching.

The Government is claiming that “intimate relationships” would still only be covered at secondary level, but the legislation is alarmingly wide in scope, and we regularly see legislation being used to promote a liberal agenda.

According to the Christian Institute, the Government says the new subject is likely to focus on “respect” and “tolerance” for “different types of relationships”. The terminology is so vague that this could include teaching on homosexual and bisexual relationships, as well as same-sex parenting and same-sex marriage. There is a real danger of confusing a right and appropriate respect for people with a wrong respect for all types of relationship.

It is my belief that our schools are becoming a danger to the morals of our children, and as parents, we should be taking up the responsibility to bring up our/God’s children.

We have home educated all our children, some through to University, if you want any help of advice on this matter, do please contact me.

Battle Lines Being Drawn – President Trump Is the Real Resistance

Reposted from Hagmannreport.com by request.

This moment calls to mind Buffalo Springfield’s For What It’s Worth.

I think it’s time we stop. Children, what’s that sound? Everybody look what’s going down. There’s battle lines being drawn. Nobody’s right if everybody’s wrong…

This time, however, for those with eyes to see and ears to hear what is happening here is perfectly clear. This is the escalation of seismic forces as cultural tectonic plates grind headlong into one another. This is the clarification of ideologies on opposite sides of the spectrum. This is the competition of worldviews that will determine the future of our nation and the world. This is the electrification of the fence of indifference and apathy. This is the confirmation of the all-in trajectory we have been careening toward for decades.

This is it.

We are witnessing a moment of profound historical importance that only arises perhaps once in a lifetime. We are living at a time of cyclical disruption, institutional reorganization, and intense discontent. There can be no doubt anymore that we are in the fourth turning. How we respond – both our actions and our inactions – will live with us forever. Will we live with permanent regret for our complacency in this moment because we were too shortsighted to see the significance of the battle we were fighting?

Unacceptable.

Consider the response to President Trump’s first address to a joint session of Congress. The American people are with our President. Even CNN was forced to admit that Trump’s call for action and unity was well received and in alignment with the direction the vast majority of the people want to achieve. Nonetheless, ideologues and captives of the globalist enterprise will persist in their fanatical opposition because that is all they know and all they can do. We must now realize that persona matters more than policy to them. It is thoroughly personal because they recognize that everything is on the line and President Trump is a threat to everything they have worked for.

When you see politicians opposing everything the President says and does, particularly efforts that virtually all Americans support – the creation of good jobs, for instance – then you know that they care about opposing a man rather than fixing the problems we real people deal with every single day of our lives. While this has been exposed for the whole world to see, it shouldn’t be surprising. That’s all these people know:

Rules for Radicals #5: Ridicule is a man’s most potent weapon.

Rules for Radicals #8: Keep the pressure on. Never let up.

Rules for Radicals #13: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.

Alinsky’s playbook is still the same as it ever was, and the only difference is that now it is being deployed more scientifically and rapidly through technological means. When a story breaks that the Department of Justice under the previous regime had maintained a slush fund to finance left wing political activist groups, the response is clear. Whip up a frenzy of outrage and scream breathlessly for the removal of the new Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Why? Because perception matters and he is a threat. Sessions knows what has gone down and he now has the power to expose dramatic wrongdoings that most people wouldn’t believe are even possible.

An alligator in a swamp doesn’t go down without a fight – especially when cornered.

They have broken down all predispositions of objectivity by enabling and even commanding a heightened state of Silicon Valley censorship. They proudly organize feminist marches led by convicted terrorists. They will fund extensive protests and disruptions when the weather gets warmer. They will do anything and everything to silence the people who are fed up with their nonsense. Why? Because they are outnumbered, outgunned, and outmaneuvered in a sprint to the moral high ground.

We the people are sick of lies, corruption, war, poverty, and oppression. We are tired of being told what to think, say, and do by sycophantic, immoral narcissists and power hungry, lunatic sociopaths. President Trump isn’t perfect, but he’s not one of them. We can tell by the seething, feverish disgust that arises when he tells the people he represents the United States of America and when his wife recites the Lord’s Prayer. He loves this country, and so do we.

We cannot cede the field to those who would annihilate us if given the chance and deem the world a better place for it. This has happened in our cultural memory in the form of horrific purges and genocides that will rear their heads again unless we stand and act right here, right now. President Trump, our President of these United States of America, is the symbolic figurehead of the real resistance. We resist the destruction of the American dream, the annihilation of the American culture, and the enslavement of the American people.

It is unbearable to contemplate the future we will turn over to the next generation should we remain silent and complacent in this hour. America is our home. Freedom is our creed. Trump is our President.

Resist the enemy, and he shall flee from us.

God bless you and God bless the United States of America!

May in a straitjacket

House of Lords tie Theresa May’s hands for Brexit negotiations.

I have always been a strong advocate of the House of Lords. As a counterbalance to left-leaning or socialist governments, I saw some merit in having heads of families who have a longer term view on the future of Britain than the next election.

But if I was asked today to vote for or against the House of Lords, I think I would have to vote for their abolition.

It is one thing to say to the government, on this or that matter you should think again, this legislation is a poorly worded or the like is one thing. But to say of the expressed mind of the electorate, we must have our six pennies worth. I believe they have overstepped their role.

What have they done?

Peers backed a Labour-led amendment by 366 to 268 to give parliament a veto over the final outcome of Brexit negotiations. (List of Peers who voted against the government can be seen here.) In effect, this is a veto over the final outcome of Theresa May’s Brexit negotiations both in the House of Commons and then in the Lords.

So May and her team go to Europe, negotiate a deal, but as time is running out to reach a deal, she has to keep saying, “I will have to see if my mum and dad will let me go to the party.” I mean will parliament agree to this deal.

The outcome.

Theresa May just can not allow herself and her negotiating team to be put in this position.

She will have to crush this amendment in the Commons or will end up having to take this back to the country in a general election asking for a full mandate to negotiate with a free hand. But even if she is able to overturn this amendment in the Commons, I believe it will then have to go to the Lords yet again. As it were daring them to again overturn the supremacy of the Commons.

It is bad enough that May and her team will know they can not make a deal, but Europe will know too and will be able to send her back time and time again with deals that the UK government ould not possibly agree and can run the clock out on her.

Lords losing a great deal of support from the country.

On top of putting Theresa May in an unenviable position, I believe that the Lords have taken a big sledgehammer to the foundations of the House of Lords.

House of Lords

113 Lords view for second referendum!

113 Lords have taken the undemocratic view that we keep asking until the voters give us the answer that we want.

Well, that is what it looks like.

2 Tory Peers, 22 Labour and 89 Liberal Democrats, have voted for a second referendum before the UK can leave the European Union.

Fortunalty they lost, but what would happen in they could just keep calling elections until they are happy with the result?

Brexit image

Brexit bill should finish in the Lords today.

Dispight our many worries that the whole Brexit process will at some point be derailed… the process is still moving forward.

Today the House of Lords will continue its examination of the European Union (Notification of Withdrawal), Bill.

The House of Lord will be looking at the bill in report stage and third reading. Report stage is a further chance to examine the bill and make changes, while third reading is an opportunity to ‘tidy up’ the bill. The two stages are scheduled to take place on the same day, which is unusual in the House of Lords.

There are a number of troubling amendments, but these can be dealt with when it returns to the house of commons if necessary.

Let us pray that the Lord will have his way in this matter.

You can read the amendments for debate here.

And watch the debate from 11am here.
