European Union (Notification of Withdrawal) Bill Passed in the commons.

The ‘European Union (Notification of Withdrawal) Bill’ has successfully passed all stages of the houses of Lord’s and commons. The Lord’s amendments have been defeated.

Amendment one was defeatEuropean Union (Notification of Withdrawal) Bill 2016-17ed by 335 to 287. A majority of nearly 50.

Amendment two was defeated by 331 to 286 against.

Praise God!

Now only the Lord’s is holding up or standing in the way of Theresa May invoking article 50. We must keep this in our prayers as we only have 18 days before it becomes subject to a qualified majority vote. This happens on the 1st April 2017.

That would mean that we would have to persuade 14 EU countries to support our exit from the EU.

  1. This is good news indeed!

My concern now is the antics of one Nicola Sturgeon north of the border – what is she playing at!! Even Jim Sillars is cautioning against this move. Perhaps she’s just piqued because they were so comprehensively trounced in the Rugger!!!

    • Thanks Bob,

I must say that I do not like Nicola Sturgeon. Not that I know he, but she comes over to me, as hard, and bitter. As far as I am concerned, Scotland can stay or go. But if they go. No pound, and if they are in the EU, free integration area, we will need a hard broader.

Hopefully, in a referendum, Scotland, will see her off the political science permanently.
