I will do a little live blogging of the UK General Election 2017, but it will be more my comments than an attempt at an alternative results service.
The result is a hung parliament which is going to be veery heard just for ordinary politicals let alone for entering into the Brexit negotiations.
With just one seat still to declare, the Conservatives only have 318 seats and are expected to end with 319 seven short of the 326 needed to have an absolute majority.
Humm, stayed in bed listening ever so often, but there was nothing interesting enough to get me out of bed and to my computer again.
Bed for a while now… back later possibly.
Newcastle Upon Tyne North – Lab hold
As so often in early result the party that lost actually had a better result than the winner.
Swindon North – Con Hold
UK General elections always have lab results coming in early. So 4 Lab, nun to Con is not a surprise.
Newcastle upon Tyne East Lab hold
Nick Clegg could be looking for a job, come the morning.
Sunderland Central – 2.3 sewing to Con.
Again, though lab hold, it is better for Con than expected.
Sunderland Central – Lab hold
Amber Rudd’s seat looking risky.
BBC now saying that Conservative majority now must be considered POSIBLE.
Both results that are in are much better than expected for the Conservatives.
BBC do not have the result numbers.. their sound feed went down.
Sunderland – Labour hold.
Better for Conservative than the exit poll suggested.
Newcastle – Lab hold
Sunderland still hoping to beat Newcastle. High turnout making this late.
Newcastle say about ten mins.
Newcastle and Sunderland are both behind their own targets for getting their counts done.
With the exit pole, Lab, Lib Dem and almost all of the other can not put togeather a credible majority, but not can the Conservatives. This could be a mess.
We could have our first result in about ten minuets.
RT news server down for a moment…
Some good news from the exit poll, the SNP expected to lose 22 seats.
Newcastle expecting the results in by 11 pm!!! They are aiming for 10:45pn. Sunderland may even be before that.
Theresa May needs 326 to have a majority.
If this is the outcome… Theresa May will not have the strong hand that she wants to enter the Brexit negotiations. She will not even have an overall majority.
BBC Exit Pole
The BBC and Sky are predicting… Con 314 Lab 266
my election watching setup.
45 minutes to go… time to get some snacks ready and settle in for an interesting night.
