I feel I should say something… but what can we say at this moment?
Well, I guess first, how sorry we are for all those who are suffering loss or injuries following these attacks.
Having said that, there are people who are suffering loss or injuries all over Britain, and the globe, who are just as hurting and just as much in need of our sympathies as these people. The fact that this is in our capital and the way it unfolded live on TV and on the internet and the fact that there are so many fatalities and injuries all from one event magnifies the shock and pain we feel collectively. Do remember the others too.
We are in fact very fortunate that so far these Islamist killers, have been so poor at killing and injuring. Do not get me wrong… the numbers killed and injured are horrific. But had this happened where there were not armed police on hand, but numbers could have been much higher.
Islam, a problem.
It was encouraging to hear that people are now beginning to change the view that, “We can not say anything bad about Islam.” And we are now beginning to hear people saying that there is a problem that Islam has and that, that needs to be addressed.
Theresa May in her first speech about the London Bridge attacks said,
“to be frank – far too much tolerance of extremism in our country.”
“They are bound together by the single evil ideology of Islamist extremism that preaches hatred, sows division and promotes sectarianism. It is an ideology that claims our Western values of freedom, democracy and human rights are incompatible with the religion of Islam. It is an ideology that is a perversion of Islam and a perversion of the truth.”
[It is through worrying that she seems to be turning to regulate the internet, and not the UK borders, immigration policy or the mosques that spread radical Islamic hate. But admitting the root of the problem is a start.]
[I am not calling for anyone to attack Muslims or to take any action personally against any individual.]
It is encouraging to hear that such thoughts are now being spoken. Until now, political correctness has made such sentiment almost impossible to talk about. But just a few days after Manchester and the sentiment that we must just ‘carry on as before’… we find that carrying on as before, just will not work.
The PC brigade
LBC, (UK Radio Station) has been daring to talk about Islam as a… I can not remember the exact word, but it meant something like a militant religion or a religion that advances by force.
I have no doubt, that a very great many Muslims are very nice people, but we can not pretend that there is not a VERY BIG problem within the teachings of the Koran and the teaching of the mosques, even in Britan.
Maybe now the PC brigade will let us talk honestly without being labelled HATE mongers, or purveyors of hate speech or the like.
We do not hate Muslims, but we do not like the teaching of Islam.
And it is not just a few odd radical Islamists. UK police are following something like 3,000-5,000 people they believe to be a risk and can identify over 23,000 radical Islamist in the UK, and some experts are suggesting the number should be much higher.
Whole Islamic countries have horrific, Islam inspired, treatment of women and people of other faiths.
Wake up Britain, (Europ and other countries that are allowing mass-Islamic immigration), there is a big problem within Islam. If you allow thousands or millions of Muslims into your country, you are very likely to end up with hundreds or thousands of radical Islamists.
[Some time we must talk about the fact that the so-called, “radical Islam, or Islamist, are actually more true to the teaching of the Koran than are the moderate or peaceful Muslims, and the fact that ‘Islam’ should be translated ‘submission’, not ‘peace’.]
One week ago the Turkish foreign minister says, ‘holy wars will soon begin in Europe,’ Today, London is under attack.
Before anyone goes off the deep end, I am not saying that there is a direct link between what Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu the Turkish foreign minister said last week and the attack on Westminster yesterday.
Nor am I suggesting that on Tuesday things were great, and today we are at war… a holy war.
But we also have to be realistic about the fact that a large number of Muslims do consider themselves to be at war with… The West, Christianity, Democracy and the like.
And not just the few, ‘lone wolf,’ attacks that we have so far seen or even the few small group attacks, like the attacks in Franse a few years ago, but Muslim governments like Turkey, consider a war with Europe a holy thing.
I believe that the attacks that we are witnessing now and then across Europe are only the blowing off of pressure from a boiler that is slowly reaching the point of exploding.
Undoubtedly it is only a very small minority of Muslims who believe that this is a right and justifiable action to take against the West, But across many Arabic language reports of yesterday’s attack in London, there are a large number of ‘thumbs up’ and ‘smiley faces’.
If there is just one in a hundred or even one in a thousand who believe that this is the right way to express the jihadist lifestyle, that still leaves a very large number. Yesterday’s events in Westminster were caused by one man, with a car and a knife or two.
How could things look if…
- There were ten, twenty, one hundred or even a thousand? The French terror police say there are 15,000 Islamic radicals on their watch list. Some are suggesting that the UK police have some 3,000 radicle-Muslims under 24-hour watch.
- What if they used a lorry instead of a car?
- What if it was combined with another cache of weapons like the 12,000 illegal weapons seized by Spanish police this week?
In human terms, things could look very bad in just a matter of weeks or years.
There are a number of things that we can and must do.
- Call upon God to have mercy on our nation, and on us if not on our nation.
- Seek God for revival in our land, for only the Gospel, has the answer for our countries needs.
- Share the Gospel. We are the tools that God normally uses to spread the good news.
- Know our salvation is secure in Christ, and that our lives here on earth are at best temporary. Trust in Christ to keep us until he calls us home.
- Forgetting the PC brigade speak the truth about true teachings of Islam, or in not the true, the often perceived as true teachings of Islam. Islam in not really a religion of Peace, but of submission to sharia.
